Some Of My Fears For Being A Mom of 3

As my due date for baby boy gets closer and closer, I am feeling super excited, but also super nervous! I know this isn't my first "rodeo", but three is going to be a HUGE change for me. I hear some moms says it was their easiest transition and others say that it was their hardest, so I really just don't know what to expect. Since I know I'm not the first mom to feel this way, I thought I'd unload some of my thoughts and biggest fears for being a mom of 3 on the blog.
I Only Have Two Hands...How Does That Work?
I feel like two was definitely a big adjustment, but at the end of the day I had two hands and two kids so I could control both of them at one time. Plus, Rosalie was a great listener, so she made things easier for me. Riley on the other hand doesn't listen quite as well, so this is going to be an interesting transition ha!

Is There Enough Of Me To Go Around?
I was worried about how I was going to love another baby as much as I loved Rosalie when I was pregnant with Riley, but that was probably one of the easiest parts about becoming a mom of two because my love just grew. I feel like it will do the same thing this time around as well. However, I do wonder what will happen in terms of splitting my time and energy between all three of them. I want to make sure they all know just how much I love them and I of course don't want any of them to feel neglected.

How Will Riley Handle Not Being The Baby?
I can already tell that Riley is going to be more jealous of the new baby than Rosalie was when Riley was born. When we talk about the baby and show him baby stuff, he always talks about how he is the baby and how all of the stuff is for him ha. I know he will love his brother and will be an amazing big brother, but I do think it is going to be a bit of an adjustment for him. Rosalie on the other hand I feel will be a second mom. :)

How Will Grocery Shopping Go?
This is a serious fear of mine ha! How the heck do you grocery shop with three kids?! Even if your kids are on their best behavior, where do you put all of your groceries? The carseat itself is huge and will take up most of the cart. I'm sure I will figure it out, but I will definitely have to come to a new normal.

What Adjustments Will Need To Be Made To The Bedtime Routine?
I still put both Rosalie and Riley to bed each night and I thoroughly enjoy it. I know that some slight adjustments will need to be made to this routine when the baby comes, at least for a little bit and I'm nervous about it.

I know that everything is going to workout just fine and that I will adjust, but I also think that if I wasn't anxious and had certain fears that I would be crazy. To all of you mommas out there who have 3 kids or more, I think you're awesome and I hope I can do as well as all of you! :)

  1. Ypu are awesome too. All of your fears are quite legitimate. I remember having the same fears before we had Ben. Just hold on tight it is going to be an amazing ride.čśŐ
