My Favorite At-Home Workout Equipment

I've said it before, but as much as I love going to the gym, I really like exercising at home as well. It is perfect for those mornings when I just want to get up early and workout, when I am traveling, or when the kids are sick. One thing that really helps me get a good workout in at home is having my own equipment. I don't have a ton of things, but I have enough to allow me to do a variety of workouts.
1. Free Weights
I love having my own weights at home because I know that I can do a variety of strength training exercises for my upper and lower body. I have weights ranging from 3 pounds to 20 pounds, and this is a good range for me.

2. Resistance Loops
I first become aware of resistance loops when I tried the Beachbody Program 80 Day Obsession and now I love them! They are so great for adding in some extra resistance and I especially like them when working my legs and glutes. They can totally be used for upper body exercises as well though! They are super versatile!

3. Resistance Bands
I love using resistance bands as well because I love how they create resistance both on the concentric (contraction) and eccentric (extension) part of an exercise. You can get them ranging from light to heavy, so anyone can get a good workout using them. If you'd like to see some videos of how I use my resistance bands, just let me know!

4. Yoga Mat
I broke my tailbone when I was 17 and ever since then it has really bothered me when doing a variety of exercises. Having a yoga mat on hand at home adds some extra protection for me when I am doing floor work. Mine isn't very thick, but there are a variety of mats out there that are thicker if that's what you're interested in. :)
What equipment do you use when working out at home? I'd love to know!

xoxo
Rachel
