Anniversary Week #1 How I Sort of "Met" My Husband

My 2nd Anniversary is this Sunday, and I couldn't be more excited! I can't believe that I have been married to the man of my dreams for a whole 2 years! I was thinking back the other day about when we first "met" (we kind of knew each other in high school), and it brought back a bunch of fun memories. So since it is my anniversary week, I am going to dedicate a few posts to talking about how we met, our engagement, and our wedding.

How we met.....sort of

I moved out to Provo at the beginning of January of 2012 to start the winter semester at BYU. My plans were to focus on school, and give it my all. I have never been one to date just to date, so that really wasn't something that I had given much thought to.

I was at the gym one morning at about 5:30 am (the only free time I had during the day) one morning after I had lived in Provo for about two weeks. Unknown to me, Chanse was at the gym too. Okay so I guess I should back up a bit. For those of you who don't know, Chanse is also from Vernal, Utah like me. My older sister was good friends with Chanse in high school, and I was friends with Chanse's little sister. I knew who Chanse was, and I thought he was really cute, but we didn't really "know" each other. He was also living in Provo and going to BYU at the same time I was. So anyway back to the story, Chanse was at the same gym I was at on this particular morning, and he happened to see me. I am the type of person who is totally in the zone when I am at the gym, plus it was super early in the morning, so I didn't see him or if I did see him I didn't recognize him ha. Once I got home from the gym, I just so happened to post something on Facebook about music or something, and he asked me if I had been at the gym that morning. I told him I had been, and we just kind of started talking after that.
We went on our first date the following week, and we went out every single night after that. We became "official" after only two weeks, but we both just knew it was right. We always had fun together, and I loved being around him. He was fun and lighthearted, and I was so excited to see him each night when I was done with school for the day. We did everything from going shooting, to driving up the canyon and watching the stars at night, to watching a Jazz game, to simply renting a movie, but we always had a good time.

I remember meeting his family for the very first time, and they treated me so good! I felt like I just kind of belonged there, and I love how they accepted me right away.

We both talked about how it was so important to date at least a year before thinking about marriage, but we definitely both ate our words on this one. Tune in for my next post about our engagement on Thursday!
