Rosalie's Two Week Check Up and Life So Far

My sweet baby girl had her two week check up yesterday, and it went really well! When she was first born she was 5 pounds and 6 ounces, and then she dropped down to 5 pounds 1 ounce the day after she was born. I had an appointment with her at the pediatrician to check her weight 4 days after she was born since she was so small, and we were thrilled to find out that she was back up to 5 pounds 5 ounces. She had also grown about an inch in the 4 days since she was born, so she went from 18 inches to 19 inches. I felt like one proud mama!

Here are the stats from her 2 week check up:

Weight: 6 pounds 3 ounces
Height: 20 inches long

She is still measuring quite small for her age, but she is growing really well, and her pediatrician is really happy. She also had to have her heal pricked so that she could be tested for several different things, and she took this like a champ. The nurses sure thought she was cute, and they went on and on about her head full of golden blonde hair. This once again made me feel like a proud mama :) I think she is the cutest thing on the planet, but I love when others agree with me ;)

All ready to go for her 2 week check up :)

And a few random pics just for fun ;)

So tired, but so so happy :) I can't get enough of that sweet little face!!!

Rosalie slept so well this night, and she woke up with this cute little smirk on her face. I refuse to believe that it was gas ;)

We had our very first blow out yesterday, and WOW was it a blow out! I got her out of her carseat after taking Chanse to school, and she had leaked through all of her layers and onto her carseat. Man can this girl poop! It is a good thing that she is so dang cute, and had me laughing the whole time that I was cleaning her up :)

So overall my first two weeks of being a mom have been awesome. Rosalie is an amazing little eater, and nursing has been really easy so far. Sleep isn't the greatest in the world, but this is of course expected with a newborn. She sleeps in about 2.5 to 3 hours stretches most of the time, but she does have those nights where she would rather party than sleep ha ;) However, a couple nights ago she did awesome, and slept for about 3.5 to 4 hour stretches. It felt so good! She is also big enough now that I don't need to wake her up to feed her, so I am really excited about that as well. Right now Rosalie is sleeping with Chanse and I, and this is just how I like it. I know that some may disagree with this, but it works for us, and I love having her so close to me so I know how she is doing at night :)

What are your thoughts on co-sleeping?
For all the moms out there: How did breast feeding go for you? Any tips?

  1. She's is adorable! I can't imagine a tiny baby. My girl was 8.1. She's 12 weeks today and breastfeeding is getting easier. It was very tough at first! I'm glad I've stuck it out! Glad it's going well for you!
